The Mainfreight business is about technology, as much as supply chain. This is why all Mainfreight branches throughout the country are on-line with each other 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The group has designed and built a technology package unrivalled in New Zealand called MainTrak. This combines operational facilities with continually developing customer service facilities.

MainTrak is a web-based host system that has been developed specially to meet the needs of ourselves and our customers. It can instantly track any consignment from initial pick-up right through to delivery.

The use of barcode technology allows each consignment to be scanned 6 times in its ‘life cycle’. The operation of Palm Pilots in all vehicles nationally allows for each consignment to be scanned on pick up and delivery with this information being instantly downloaded to the host system. We also have the functionality to type in the receiver’s name which is also downloaded instantly.

Our MainTrak computer system covers every aspect of our operations and makes the pro-active notification of non-conformances simple.
